Mini Stars is a parent-assisted gymnastics class within BK’s Gymnastics’ Little Stars Education Program, designed for 2 and 3-year-old gymnasts. This program focuses on developing a greater understanding of the body and introduces basic gymnastics skills.
The curriculum in Mini Stars teaches essential movements such as safe landing techniques, rotation, balance, and dominant movement patterns. These skills are taught within a themed class structure that helps stimulate learning. As part of the broader Little Stars Education Program, Mini Stars concentrates on the development of fundamental body movement and awareness, progressing through a wide range of basic to intermediate gymnastics skills.
The program also incorporates essential learning aspects including gross & fine motor skills, instructional language, individual achievement, spatial awareness, directional movement, confidence building, coordination & balance, organised and chaotic structure, personal discovery, strength & flexibility, social interaction, independence, colour recognition, letters & numbers, and tactile development. Each fortnightly program is based around a specific theme, and participating gymnasts can dress up or bring an item related to the theme. The class structure is specifically designed to cater to the physical and emotional developmental stages of its students.
